Colorado’s breathtaking mountain landscape, high-altitude ski resorts, and world-renowned winter scenery make it the ultimate ski destination. To help you prepare for an unforgettable experience, here are some key things to know about the conditions, weather, and logistics, along with helpful tips for making the most of your tour.

Weather and High-Altitude Conditions

Colorado ski resorts are located at high altitudes, often reaching well above 8,000 feet. At this elevation, temperatures generally stay below freezing, and snowfall is frequent. Be prepared with warm, high-quality ski apparel, including Insulated base layers, a waterproof jacket, ski pants, gloves, hat, sunglasses, and other essentials to protect you from the cold and blowing snow.

• Important Weather Note: Snowfall and storms are part of Colorado’s natural winter beauty. Our tours proceed in all weather conditions except in rare instances beyond our control. Expect some adventure in the elements!

Road Conditions and Travel Delays

Colorado maintains a top-notch winter road maintenance system, but snowy mountain routes can still face delays. Road closures or heavy traffic may cause slight delays in transportation, especially during or after a snowstorm. Rest assured that your safety and comfort are our priority, and we’ll navigate any travel challenges that arise with patience and care.

Flight Timing Recommendations

To ensure a smooth departure, please plan your flight home no earlier than 9 p.m. on the last day of your tour. Mountain travel and ski days can occasionally run late due to road conditions or weather, so it’s best to allow extra time.

Extra Day Consideration: We highly recommend reserving flights for the day after the tour ends and, if possible, arriving in Denver a day before the tour begins. This gives you time to rest and fully prepare for your experience on the slopes.

Pre-Tour Accommodation

Your first night’s accommodation in Denver (the night before the first day of the tour) is included in your tour package, ensuring a comfortable arrival. If you choose to stay in Denver after the tour ends, we can assist with accommodation, though this will be at your own cost.

Ski Classes and Instruction

Our group ski classes, managed by the ski resort, have a maximum of 8 students per group to ensure personalized attention. Note that other skiers may be part of the class, and instruction will be in English.

• First-Day Lesson: Your package includes a half-day group ski lesson in English on the first day. This introduction helps beginners and intermediate skiers quickly build skills with guidance from expert instructors.
• Additional Lessons: If you’d like further lessons for other days, you can book additional lessons at the ski resort starting at around $200. Your tour leader will help you to reserve your additional class.
• If you’d like an instructor who speaks Farsi for your further lessons, please coordinate with your tour leader, who is also a ski master and can provide instruction in Farsi.
